Have you ever sat in a chair and immediately thought, “Where has this been all my life?” That’s basically what happened to me at the H&H trade show in Chicago. What started as a quick sit-down to rest my feet turned into an entire sewing room upgrade—and I can’t wait to show you what I got!

This post is all about my brand-new sewing cabinet and chair from Arrow Sewing*. If you’re looking to level up your sewing space, this is worth checking out. I’ve also got a 20% off discount code (TOMKAT20) just for you, so let’s get into it! Read on or watch here:

How It All Started

Back in May, Jenni and I were walking the floor at the H&H trade show when we stopped by the Arrow Sewing booth. While she was chatting with their team, I sat down in one of their sewing chairs and immediately fell in love. The lumbar support hit just right, and it even had storage built in! From there, a conversation began that led to me becoming Arrow’s first ever garment sewing ambassador.

As part of that partnership, I was able to upgrade my sewing room with their Laverne & Shirley cabinet* and one of those dreamy chairs* that first caught my eye.

Meet My New Sewing Cabinet: Laverne & Shirley*

Let’s talk features, because this sewing cabinet is PACKED with them:

  • Adjustable machine platform – My Bernina 790 sits on a lift that lowers and raises as needed, making it easy to switch between flatbed and free-arm. Or even stash it away when I need a lot of desk space to work.
  • Pull-out drawers – Four in total, including two with removable thread spool holders.
  • Fold-out extension – Adds major workspace to the back for quilting or filming tutorials and sew alongs.
  • Hidden cutting + pressing station – the drawers slide out and the top unfolds transforming the cabinet into a full L-shaped workspace, complete with a built-in cutting mat and ironing pad.  An ideal place for my Oliso M3Pro Project Iron*.

And yes, everything folds neatly away when not in use. This is perfect if your sewing space doubles as a shared space like a guest room.

Let’s Talk About That Chair*

Okay, real talk: the chair is what started this whole thing. It’s ridiculously comfortable and comes in all sorts of colors and prints (you know I went with the bold one!). Highlights:

  • Lumbar support in just the right spot
  • Hidden under-seat storage – Great for keeping patterns, projects, or fabric bits tidy
  • Stylish options – Choose from solids or prints to match your space

Some Assembly Required

Assembling this chair and cabinet took the better part of a day, but it was a perfect way for me to spend some one-on-one time with my son before he's off to college.  Putting this cabinet together with him is probably my favorite part of this cabinet.  ❤️❤️❤️
