Hello, Everyone! I thought I would pop in today to share one of my latest makes. It’s the Closet Case Pattern’s newest, the Amy jumpsuit.
When this pattern was released a few weeks ago, I pounced on it the moment I read the announcement email. Not only did I purchase it right away, but I couldn’t even wait for it to be printed (my norm for pdf patterns). I actually printed this one out at home and taped all those pages together! That is saying something as I HATE taping together PDF patterns. However, I just couldn’t wait to start sewing this one. It really lived up to all my expectations. Here are the alterations I made:
I sewed a size 12 with a 4” FBA
I shortened the legs by 4”
I omitted the zipper (after basting and determining I didn’t need it to get the jumpsuit on and off)
I have two family weddings as well as a few other events this Fall that call for some dressier attire. I thought about making dresses for all of these, but when this jumpsuit came into my inbox the bells rang! I have had this emerald green silk twill in my stash for a couple of years and I had just enough to whip this up. I am super happy with the outcome and as an added bonus, it really feels like I’m wearing nothing. Silk is amazing.
While I love this twill version, I am really hankering for another one of these for next Spring and Summer. I’m thinking I will make that version in a silk noil and I’m pretty sure it will make HEAVY rotation.
I have styled this baby in three different ways showcasing how I’m going to be wearing it to my various events this Fall. The first is the most casual with just the added jean jacket.
This next look is still casual, but a bit smarter. I think this one could definitely do “dinner out” duty or work for a meeting. I have paired this one with my beloved Aster button down top.
Last, but certainly not least, is the dressed up version. This is how I will, most likely, wear it to a couple of weddings this Fall. I have added a gifted scarf with my heels to make an uber dressy outfit!
And there you have it! Three ways to wear the newest of Closet Case Patterns. The Amy Jumpsuit is a definite win!
Per usual, I have also filmed a video for my channel if you prefer seeing the outfits in motion:
Up next we will be returning to my Sew Over It Capsule wardrobe so stay tuned!
Until next time!
