It's been awhile and, for that, I am truly sorry. In all honesty, running a household, raising children, and running an alterations/custom sewing business on the side has been a total time suck. On top of my normal stuff, I have also had a series of very unfortunate health issues for the majority of the year. It was during this time, however, that I have done some serious thinking about my professional future. While I still have a few ideas percolating, I have decided to take a step away from sewing for others. It doesn't bring me the joy that it once did, and life is entirely too short to be miserable between the hours of 8 and 3. That being said, sewing is still a GREAT passion and is something I am so very grateful for every day.
While these new possible ventures do a bit more percolating, and since I have freed up some time by no longer taking client work (or very little client work), I have decided to pour my energy into building up my blog and, wait for it . . . I've started a YouTube channel!!!! This is something I've been really thinking about for awhile. I love our little online sewing community and have been desperate to take a more active roll amongst all the platforms from which I take so much enjoyment.
My plan is to try and post 2 videos a month at the least (I would love to get it to one a week, but I'm being careful in over committing myself!). The channel is designed to be a way for me to catalog my adventures in wardrobe planning and capsule sewing. It's something I'm pretty passionate about and am excited to share it among the community. I plan to use the blog as a more "in-depth" review of the patterns I make, fabric I chose, etc.
I've really missed this little place of mine on the internet and am excited to jump back in! Please let me know if there is anything you would like to see from me either on the YouTube channel or on the blog. I'm really looking forward to the conversation!
Until next time!
