I started with the jumpsuit pattern and turned it into a wonderful camisole top. I shared the tutorial on this in this video:
My second layer top was a Nettie Bodysuit that I hacked into a simple tank top.
The purpose of this one is primarily layering. For that reason, this will get a lot of wear. I basically just kept the sleeves off the original pattern and cut it at hip length instead of sewing it as a bodysuit. Very simple and very effective!
The next top was a bit unconventional as well. I had seen this Equipment blouse awhile back and REALLY wanted to recreate it.
Clearly, it’s a dead ringer for the top of the Carolyn PJs so that's exactly what I used for my version!
This silk blouse basically turned out exactly like I had hoped. This one takes the cake in terms of all the tops I made for this capsule. I love how the silk drapes and how different it is!
The final top was the Ebony Top.
I was most unsure about this one. I was worried this one would fall off my bust in an unflattering way and make me look bigger than I am. However, I was so pleasantly pleased with the results! I made the cropped version, but lengthened it by 2” so that it wasn’t too cropped.
I found this to actually be very flattering on my figure, especially when paired with something fitted on the bottom (i.e. skinny pants or a pencil skirt).
This wraps up the tops for this capsule. The final installment will be my Kelly Anorak so stay tuned!
Until next time!
